I picked up some "Christmas village" houses to give them the ol' Vagabond treatment; I was gonna Baba Yaga all of them, but it seemed like the Yaga probably woldn't live in a church? So I decided to spiderfy this one. In the end, it looks more like a whip-tail scorpion than a spider, but I'm giving her a solid A for Arachnid.
This little church has handcut stainless steel legs and mandibles, all one piece and securely bolted to the otherwise unmodified house. This church was the "standard" size for those little christmas villages; about 8 inches tall at the spire, and will look very sneaky if you place her in an otherwise innocuous scene. She is, of course, also happy to live all alone on your bookcase or other shelf. She probably will not other your other pets.
As is, she is not sanded; I don't usually sell unsanded work but, frankly, the idea of her being just a little dangerous amuses me. She is not "slice your hand" sharp, but is, perhaps "be a little careful when unwrapping" sharp. I am offering an "un-dangerfy" option if you would like her fully sanded before mailing. Spider Church comes with the electric tealight that was included in the church; I think she would look better with one of those flickery "fake flame" ones and if I find one before she ships I'll switch it out.
This is an art object, not a toy. The legs are stronger than the house, and are quite steady, but the whole thing is still breakable, scratchable, and chippable. It is, unlike some of my other sculpture work, easy to dust and not subject to moths, so can be put out on a shelf or wherever you want it, and does not require a glass case. If you decide that this piece is seasonal decor, you should be able to pack it up with no more worry than any other piece of holiday decor, just make sure to provide enough padding that she doesn't scratch your second favourite piece.
