Dollface Spider #3

I made this spider out of a scrap of a silver-plated platter to match the silver gilt on the rim and handle.

I found these tiny faces while I was looking for the cameos; I bought these almost two decades ago, and I love them so much that I keep thinking nothing is good enough to use them on.
That is SILLY.
This is good enough for them.
These tiny ceramic faces were handmade, and glazed in white. If I had bought them more recently, I would be able to tell you the name of the artist, but I bought them while I was still a student and I've lost the records, for which I apologize.

This is an art object; the teacup and spider are permanently bonded. While I fully support displaying this piece inside your cabinet with the rest of your teacups, you cannot drink from it. It is not a toy. It is, unlike some of my other sculpture work, easy to dust and not subject to moths, so can be put out on a shelf or wherever you want it, and does not require a glass case. It is roughly as delicate as a teacup.
