Every year, in early December, I think "Oh, I should make some Krampus masks in time for Krampusnacht! And every year, after I've started, I remember that Krampusnacht is, in fact, in early December. BUT THIS YEAR IS DIFFERENT! My wife reminded me on time. I can't actually take credit for this. Either way, though, you benefit.

When I got horns this time, i ordered one, and only one, big set. They aren't GIANT; you'll still fit through a door (if you are very tall to start with, you may have to pay attention at the door frame, but, on the other hand, yo will look particularly stunning). One of them needed a little bit f strengthening, so I decided to dress it up, hence that and with stones; they are lovely carnelian cabs which glow red like a smaller extra set of eyes when hit with the right lighting. I've also given the face an extra wide, extra toothy, almost cheshire cat smile that extends off your own stunning visage. This is a mask for the center of attention; for a ringmaster ready o start a circus on any street, for a leader waiting for the parade to follow them.

The horns used for my Krampi are byproducts of other industries; they are natural, they are not vegan, but no one died for them. We are proud to honour the animal that grew them by using them as part of new and beautiful things. Because they are organic materials, we recommend storing them somewhere dry and washing them only with soaps you would comfortably use on your own hands.

The wonder of a copper mask is in the strength and give of the material. Because it is so strong, the mask can be very thin- this makes it both very light, and makes it possible to fit as a second skin. These won't block your peripheral vision the way a leather, paper-maiche, or plastic mask would. They can be very comfortably worn all day and night- no worries about sweat or rain causing them to soften and lose their shape. Rinse it with clean water at the end of the night before putting it away. They can stand up to anything you throw at them. As for packing? Throw it in your bag. If you're checking the bag, maybe stuff a balled up pair of socks where your forehead would go. Easy.

Not planning to wear your mask? They won't mind. They can hang flat against a wall, or sit on a shelf.
