Capelet: deer hide, fossilized palm, copper

Never has it been more elegant to have deer hooves on your shoulder. really, though- I love this piece. It's somewhere between an officer's dress epaulettes, a lady's shrug, and the mink she might wear over it. It clasps at the front, gently holding the "cape" to keep the drape exactly right. Size is adjustable.

Some time ago, a friend of mine moved to New Zealand. She couldn't take any organic materials with her, so she divided up her possessions and sent out boxes to a few folks. I got one. It included a few choice bits of deer hide. The stone is a well cut and well polished bit of fossilized palm- picked up from a different friend's stash.
